Education

Like all qualified dentists, Dr. Le completed his first eight years and became a certified dentist. However, he didn’t want to settle there, so he continued his studies at the Medical University of South Carolina. There, Dr. Le completed a course in advanced bone grafting and graduated. He then received training for bone grafting at the Zimmer Institute.

He became an adjunct clinical professor in Richmond at the Medical College of Virginia. Here, he earned a DDS (doctor of dental surgery) back in 1993. He has since been certified as a provider of the revolutionary Pinhole® Surgical Technique.

 

Awards and Nominations

Dr. Le has been nominated severally by the Consumer Research Council of America. He was eligible for the coveted America Top Dentist award not once but thrice, in 2007, 2008, and 2011. He was also nominated for the Best of Dentistry award consecutively from 2014 to 2016.

Fellowship

Dr. Le is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

 

Family

Dr. Le is the third child in a family of eight and is one of four dentists in his family. He works with his siblings during his free time to give back to the community. They volunteer locally and overseas in missions with Hope for Tomorrow and Operation Smile.

Specialization

Dr. Le is known for his specialization in the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique, which he uses to treat receding gums. It is one of the most current and innovative dental solutions available. Receding gums can lead to other dental problems like infection, decay, or tooth loss.

It is a novel, minimally invasive procedure created by John Chao D.D.S. Before Pinhole Surgery, the only available treatments for receding gums usually involved grafting.
